Federal Housing Youth Authority launches Lugbe Echo, Tree Planting Campaign

- A tree-planting campaign has been launched in some parts of the Nigerian capital, Abuja

- The initiative is spearheaded by a group known as the Federal Housing Youth Authority

- The youth group also hailed the political disposition of the minister of state for FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijani

A group, Federal Housing Youth Authority, has called on politicians in the country to emulate Dr. Ramatu Tijani, the minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory.

The group made the call at the launch of a magazine, Lugbe Echo, and the commencement of their tree planting campaign in Abuja on Saturday, March 28.

The president of the group, Engr. George Chidi noted that the launch of the magazine is to bring Federal Housing Youths to the forefront of legitimate activities.

“We present the maiden edition of this national magazine hoping that relevant authorities will emulate Dr. Ramatu Tijani’s effort to identify with the youths at the grassroots.
“It was laudable to note that it was only the minister that sent a powerful delegation to lead the kick-starting of our tree-planting campaign.
“Citizens and media engagement in critical issues has become inevitable as nobody has the monopoly of solutions to Nigeria's problems.”

The minister who was represented at the event appealed to the youths to use their energy positively and desist from thuggery and other social vices as the election will soon come again.

The occasion was attended by Waansa Nigeria President, CEO Global Peace Advocacy and Development Initiative, President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Yahaya Bello Youth Support Group, and a host of others.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tijani was listed as one of the outstanding women in the Buhari administration recently.

The list which was released by the president was part of the activities to celebrate International Women's Day 2021.

Legit.ng reports that Dr. Tijani's popularity soared when she was in charge of the FCT palliative during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Declaring that no nation could survive without a food reserve, the FCT minister of state urged council chairmen and monarchs to reach out to opinion moulders and unite the people against looters after some warehouses containing COVID-19 palliatives were raided in at least seven states.
