Aguero is set to leave City after a 10-year stay this summer when his deal with them expires.

The Argentine striker signed for the Citizens from Atletico Madrid nearly a decade ago and has gone on to make over 350 appearances for them.

With his career at Etihad all but done, it has not stopped the rumour mills from projecting his next destination.

Whereas Barcelona look his likeliest next club, Chelsea and United have both been heavily linked.

But should he consider switching to Old Trafford, then he will join a host of players from both sides of the divide to cross the town to link up with their fiercest rivals.

Legit.ng now takes a look at top 7 players who have represented both Manchester clubs.

1. Carlos Tevez

He is the most recent example on the list.

The striker traded United for City in 2009, with his Etihad arrival being marked with that famous "Welcome to Manchester" billboard.

Fortunately for him, just like at Old Trafford, he went on to enjoy genuine success with City.

2. Peter Schmeichel

Unlike Tevez, Schmeichel did not immediately join Man City after his Old Trafford exit.

After an illustrious eight years with the Red Devils, the legendary keeper moved to Sporting Lisbon.

He would two years later make a return to the Premier League with Aston Villa before moving to Etihad in 2002/03.

3. Denis Law

The United icon made 404 appearances in the red shirt - scoring 237 goals in the process.

During the period, he also won a number of titles with the Red Devils and the 1964 Ballon d'Or.

He is among players who donned both shirts of the Manchester clubs, playing for City in three seasons.

4. Brian Kidd

The Man United wonderkid enjoyed a speedy rise after he broke through the ranks from the club's academy.

However, relegation saw him join Arsenal in 1974 before moving to Man City two years later where he spent three seasons.

5. Andy Cole

Cole is arguably one of United's best January signings in the history of the club.

Joining them during the winter transfer in 1995 from Newcastle, the Englishman hit the ground running with 12 goals in just 18 matches in that second half of the season.

He went on to rack up 121 goals for United in 275 matches.

After eight seasons at Old Trafford, he joined Blackburn Rovers before having a year stint with Fulham, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Man City.

6. Owen Hargreaves

Despite the Englishman's promising career, injuries took a huge toll on him during his four-year stay at Old Trafford.

The four seasons between 2007-2011 saw him make just 39 appearances in a red shirt before crossing to Etihad.

However, he would manage just four matches for them in another torrid stint that saw him last only a season.

7. Billy Meredith

The Welshman crossed from City to United in 1906 after making 362 appearances for the blue side.

He went on to play 335 times for Man United across 11 seasons, before making another emotional return to City for another three years.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Paul Pogba could finally leave Manchester United at the end of the season, according to reports in Italy, cited on Mirror.

The France international's contract at Old Trafford is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and it has been suggested that United should sell rather than keep him till next season.

According to Italian news publication Tuttosport, Pogba's romance at the Theatre of Dreams will be favourable to both club and player.
