Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba has exclusively revealed to Legit.ng that he joined Nigerian club Kwara United so as for him to win the Nigerian Professional Football League title with the Ilorin based club.

Dele Aiyenugba remains one of the best goalies in Nigeria considering his records years back winning the CAF Champions League title twice with Enyimba and also League crown 4 times.

So far this season, Dele Aiyenugba has been impressive for Kwara United in their campaign in the Nigerian topflight as the Ilorin based side are still topping the table after 18 games.

While speaking with Legit.ng, the 37-year-old explained that he decided to come back to Nigeria because of his love for the Nigerian League and also the way Kwara United is being run by the management under Kumbi Titiloye and Bashir Badawiy.

''I am happy that I made the decision to return home and I want to make it clear that winning titles with Kwara United is my target and I have the believe in my teammates.''

Aiyenugba who spent 14 years in the Israeli League also explained that former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was his best teammate adding that Eran Zahavi who currently plays for PSV was his toughest opponent.

''Me and Enyeama have built strong relationship for years and we still relate like brothers up till today and I want to thank him for the love he has for me.
''During my years in Europe, I can say that Eran Zahavi was my toughest opponent because I really had difficult times facing him.''

The 37-year-old was also asked to pick who he feels is the best between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and he chose the Juventus superstar.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Brazilian winger Lucas Alves stated clearly that he came to Nigeria to win the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title with Kwara United.

Kwara United unveiled the 25-year-old Brazilian at their Secretariat inside the stadium complex in Ilorin on Monday afternoon, October 5, after Lucas Alves agreed a one-year contract.

Lucas Alves started his football career in his country where he played for Corinthians and Pao De Acucar before moving to America.

Last year, Lucas Alves played for Seahorses Los Angeles where he was impressive before he left the side in December 2019.
