Malawian football star, Limbikani Mzava, has warmed hearts after gifting his mother a car on his return to the country after three years away.

Mzava has been away in South Africa for some time now where he is plying his trade with AmaZulu.

However, when national duty called, the versatile defender linked up with Malawi's national football team who he helped side secure a place in the AFCON finals in Cameroon in 2022.

The 27-year-old has not been in the country for three years and only made a return on Thursday, March 25.

He went on to mark his emotional homecoming with victory as Malawi stunned Uganda 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in their final round of the AFCON qualifiers.

But the icing on the cake on his return was when he gifted his mum a ride later on Tuesday, March 30, with a footage capturing the moment showing the mother nearly reduced to tears.

In the video shared by the Football Association of Malawi on Facebook, Mzava can be seen leading his mother to a beige car parked at the road side, before the football ace handing the car keys to his already emotional mother.

A number of fans who reacted on the special moment congratulated the Malawi captain for his kind gesture.

One said:

"Wow... The old queen couldn't believe this. Trust me ... Those tears will be rivers of blessings over your life ... You shall fail to contain them... Go swim bro.. Go swim in blessings."

Another noted:

While a fourth concluded:

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Cote d'Ivoire's final AFCON 2022 qualifier against Ethiopia ended in confusion as the center-referee fell ill in the 80th minute of the game.

The fourth official available was an Ivorian and the match had to be abandoned as all three points were awarded to the home team.

Wolves defender Willy Boly had put the Elephants ahead in the fifth minute as AC Milan's Franck Kessie made it 2-0 from a spot-kick in the 19th minute.
