Didier Drogba's son, Isaac, has finally scored his first professional goal after he found the back of the net during Folgore Caratese's slim 1-0 win over Caronnese in the Serie D.

The youngster scored the only goal that separated the true sides, which, incidentally, was also his first.

Drogba has had a somewhat slow start to his football career as he looks to follow in his dad's footsteps.

The 20-year-old was initially part of Chelsea's academy, before he was let go in 2018 by the west London side.

He went on to make a move to French outfit, Guingamp, where his father made his football breakthrough during the 2002/03 campaign when he scored 17 Ligue 1 goals.

However, Drogba Jr. failed to hit the ground running, leaving Guingamp with no choice but to release him last summer without playing a single match.

He would later in February sign for Folgore Caratese with the hope of jump-starting his career with the Italian minnows.

And his patience seems to have paid off after he got his name on the scoresheet on Sunday, March 28, as he steered his side to victory against Caronnese.

The youngster was on the end of a set piece when he calmly slotted home to help the fourth tier side cart home all the three points.

He will be looking to build on the momentum in the coming months to reach the levels of his now retired father.
