Daily Nigerian reports the meeting was attended by eight ward chairmen of the party out of the 11 wards, elders and party faithful from Chanchaga LGA.

According to the report, one of the media aides of the ex-governor, Bala Bitrus said the suspension is laughable as the state PDP does not have an executive in place to approve such suspension.

He said that the meeting held was illegal and holds no water, adding that Aliyu would address the issue when he receives the communication about his suspension.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that aspirants under the age of 35 seeking to contest for elective positions on the platform of the PDP would be exempted from the payment of nomination fees.

It was reported that the party's National Reconciliation and Strategy Committee (NRSC) made this known in its new recommendation.

In a related report, another crisis is looming in the PDP following threats by some Igbo leaders to defect from the party if it fails to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the southeast region.

The threat was issued on Thursday, March 25, by a group of eminent Nigerians from the south-east geopolitical zone under the auspices of the Igbo Leadership Development Foundation.
