Nigerian Troops kill 48 Terrorists, Rescue 11 Kidnapped Victims
- The aggressive clearance operation to stamp out terrorists and other criminal activities in the north continues
- In a successful onslaught in one northern state, scores of Boko Haram insurgents were neutralised

The Nigerian army has continued its operations in the northern region of the country to rid the area of Boko Haram insurgents terrorizing residents.
No fewer than forty-eight terrorists were successfully neutralised by troops during combat in two villages in Borno state.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the army spokesman, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Yerima and shared on the Facebook page of the Nigerian army.

The operation which was was carried out in an ambush along Damboa axis of Borno state saw the troops deployed in Chibok under 28 Task Force Brigade of Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE kill 9 terrorists while several others escaped with fatal gunshot wounds.
According to Yerima, the gallant troops also rescued a total of eleven kidnapped persons from the terrorists in the course of their encounter.
The army spokesman also disclosed that 39 insurgents were neutralised in a similar operation by the troops of 28 Task Force Brigade located in Askira along Askira - Chibok Main Supply Route (MSR) who laid an ambush for the criminals.
Yerima said items recovered from the insurgents include 15 AK 47 Rifles, 4 magazines, among others.
The troops have been commended by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru for their efforts and also encouraged them to remain committed in the fight against insurgency.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that no fewer than two Cameroonian soldiers were killed in a 40-minute gunfight with Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday, March 20, in northeastern Borno state.
Nigerian military sources on Sunday, March 21, said that the insurgents attacked the soldiers outside the town of Wulgo, a known Boko Haram hideout.
The Cameroonian troops were deployed to Nigeria from across the border to assist following an attack launched by the insurgents.
