PDP’s Ebisike Defeats Senator Uzor Kalu’s Brother, Wins Aba Reps Bye-Election

- The PDP has strengthened its dominance in Abia state by winning the Aba North and South Federal Constituency bye-election

- Chimaobi Ebisike who is the party's candidate garnered 10,322 votes to clinch the vacant federal legislative seat

Chimaobi Ebisike, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Aba North and South Federal Constituency bye-election conducted on Saturday, March 27, has emerged victorious.

Daily Trust reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s Returning Officer for the exercise, Professor Fidelis Okpata, announced the result in the early hours of Sunday, March 28.

Ebisike polled 10,322 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mascot Uzor Kalu, who scored 3,674 votes, The Nation also reported.

Legit.ng gathers that Mascot is the younger brother of Santor Orji Uzor Kalu who is currently representing Abia North senatorial district in the Red Chamber.

2. Okey Prestige (Action Alliance (AA) - 199

3. APM - 10

4. NRM - 13

Ossy Prestige of APGA was the representative of the constituency but he died on February 6.

In other news, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun state, has said that members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must be united in order to win the 2023 presidential election.

Oyinlola gave the advice while speaking with newsmen after receiving former Oyo state deputy governor, Taofeek Arapaja and party supporters in his house in Osogbo.

He said with unity of purpose, the PDP can rescue Nigerians from the suffering created by the All Progressives Congress (APC) misrule.

Meanwhile, a former senate president of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki, has pleaded with Nigerians to give the PDP a chance to rule the country again come 2023.

Saraki made the plea on Friday, March 19 while commissioning some projects by the Delta state government in Asaba.

According to the former federal lawmaker, PDP governors are doing so well in their respective states that Nigerians could expect a replication at the centre if they vote the party into power in the next general elections.
