Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of this season owing to their failure in Europe as well as the domestic league.

The Turin-based outfit has been dumped out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage twice in a row while they trail Inter Milan by 10 points on the Serie A table.

Ronaldo could not help the Old Lady avoid a 1-0 defeat to Benevento before the international break which sees them occupy the third position on the log.

Although, the 36-year-old has done well for himself individually this term having scored 23 goals in 24 league games, while he has scored 30 goals and four assists in all 34 games he has played.

However, he has not been able to lift his club with all his stats as they performed worse than they used to in the Champions League and are also on the verge of not winning the Serie A title for the first time in 10 years.

This has now caused division in the club with some saying that the forward should be sold and others believing that he should be allowed to see out his contract.

SunSport quoting La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ronaldo has been linked with former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid with a potential price tag as low as £21.5 million for the star.

The publication reveals that neither Juve nor Ronaldo are planning on a summer transfer at this time and both parties are billed to sit down and discuss the path ahead in May.

Juventus vice-chairman Pavel Nedved has also insisted that he will not sell his star attacker in the summer. The former midfielder told DAZN:

"For me, Ronaldo can't be touched. He has a contract until June 30, 2022, and will stay. What happens after that remains to be seen.
"Cristiano, both technically and in terms of image, pushed us towards the peak of football.
"On a technical level, you can't fault him. He's scored more than 100 goals in 120 games and he dragged us into the Champions League.
"We can criticise him – we all have to be open to criticism when we make a mistake – but to question his numbers and what he gives us in every game, for me, isn't fair."

Questions have also arisen over the future of coach Andrea Pirlo and out-of-form attacker Paulo Dybala.

Nedved has moved to assure fans that club legend Pirlo will be given another chance next season while, on Dybala, he admitted the Bianconeri will 'evaluate every opportunity when the transfer window opens.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo might have traded winning the Italian League title for the golden boot this campaign.

The 36-year-old currently has 23 league goals - four better than Inter Milan attacker Romelu Lukaku while Zlatan Ibrahimovic's tally stands at 15 so far.

Meanwhile, the Old Lady are 10 points inferior to the Nerazzurri who are at the summit of the table with about 11 games to the end of this campaign.
