You've Surrendered Ondo Farmlands to Herdsmen, Akintoye Slams Akeredolu

The position of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on the call by a southwest elite group for the realisation of the Yoruba nation dream has been considered a personal opinion.
This view was given on Tuesday, March 23, by Ilana Omo Oodua, the governing body of the Yoruba self-determination organisation.

Professor of History, Banji Akintoye, the leader of the group, declared that if Akeredolu is speaking for the region and not for himself, he should approve the one million march for the Yoruba Nation proposed by the groups to take place peacefully in his state, Nigerian Tribune reports.
Akintoye said the agitation is in no way a call for secession, but a move towards self-determination and realisation.
The technocrat alleged that by his participation in the National Livestock Programme, the governor surrendered Ondo to herdsmen.
Punch reports the group pointed out that the governor feeds 100 per cent on the commonwealth of Ondo state people.

In a statement signed by the secretary of the group, Basorun Kunle Adesokan, Akintoye said:
“Akeredolu has now surrendered the farmlands in Ondo State to the government of Fulani herdsmen while masquerading to be participating in National Livestock Programme. We are aware he traded Ondo people off to avoid being sacked from office through the Fulani-dominated Nigerian courts."
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS) had alleged that a category of the country's politicians was trying to bring about national disintegration through violent means for their selfish interests.
NINAS said this set of politicians include some of those who are eyeing the presidential seat in the 2023 elections.
