Super Eagles who are three-time African champions on Tuesday evening, March 23, had their first training at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos ahead of their match this coming weekend against Benin.

And in the first training Super Eagles had, Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze were said to be the top performers as they showed superb skills which made the coaching crew happy.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Ahmed Musa was in brilliant form on the pitch despite the fact that the former Leicester City star has not played competitive football since November last year.

Although Gernot Rohr has made it clear that Ahmed Musa will not be playing against Benin and Lesotho, the German may be forced to change his mind due to his form.

Samuel Chukwueze who has scored two goals in the qualifiers was impressive as he moved past defenders in training with ease.

Gernot Rohr and his wards will face Benin Republic on Saturday, March 27 before coming back home to tackle Lesotho in the second game in Lagos on Tuesday, March 30.

As things stand presently, the Super Eagles only need a point for them to qualify for the 2022 African Cup of Nations which will hold in Cameroon.

At the last championship in Egypt, Nigeria finished as the third best, beating Tunisia to win the bronze medal.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian sensation Kelechi Iheanacho scored two goals as Leicester City knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup in FA Cup quarter-final cracker which ended 3-1.

The Super Eagles striker promised to buy popular snack 'Gala' and then Fanta to celebrate the victory with his team-mate and compatriot Wilfred Ndidi.

Iheanacho was gifted the opening goal following a poor pass by Fred as the Nigerian rounded goalkeeper Dean Henderson before tucking the ball into the net.

Seven minutes into the second half Iheanacho did a one-two with Youri Tielemans who put Leicester 2-1 ahead.
