The duo recently mocked Kalu saying he had not recovered from his prison experience after he asserted that roads in Abia were either funded by the federal government or Niger Delta Development Commission.

The Cable quoted Kalu as saying:

“This is 10 pm and I am here with you, can the governor or Abaribe come here? That is why in leadership, you have to be with the people you are leading.
“But they don’t understand this simple technique, all the projects they claim to be doing are all on the radio, nothing on the ground. Joseph went to prison, even Obasanjo went to prison.
“My going to prison is part of my life script and I am thankful God allowed it.”

Vanguard reports that the spokesman to Governor Ikpeazu, Mr Onyebuchi Ememanka, had scolded Kalu for claiming that the on-going road infrastructural development in Aba is funded by the federal government through his intervention.

Ememanka said there was no iota of truth in Kalu’s claims, insisting that the state government is finding the on-going projects in Aba.

Two months ago, Kalu urged the people of the southeast to join the APC, adding that it is an opportunity for Igbo people to join the winning team.

The lawmaker suggested that joining the party is beneficial because the APC is committed to a united and indivisible Nigeria.

Kalu also recently declared that the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, would soon join the APC.

The senator made the declaration while addressing journalists after Wike had led him on a project inspection around Port Harcourt, the state capital on Thursday, February 18.
