Ogbe went on to note that though the terrorists announced her childbirth earlier in 2020, they are still investigating the birth of the second child.

The convener in a statement explained that there has also been no tangible response from the captors despite an offer by an American pastor to surrender himself in exchange for Leah.

Meanwhile, The News reported that the organization lamented over the plight of the abandoned Dapchi schoolgirl.

According to the group, Leah remains a poster child and symbol of a failed state that can’t protect its children until she is released.

The United States-based group also condemned the full-scale onslaught on education in Nigeria by the Islamist extremists.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the federal government said Boko Haram terrorists deliberately refused to release Leah in order to divide Nigerians along the lines of religion.

Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s minister of information and culture stated that the terrorists know that holding Sharibu captive might cause religious tensions in the country.
