President Muhammadu Buhari's appointment of Engr. Wakil Bukar as a commissioner for the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has got the approval of the National Assembly.
Bukar's nomination was confirmed by the Senate during its plenary on Tuesday, March 23, according to a tweet by the Red Chamber sighted by Legit.ng.

The confirmation followed the consideration of a report of the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service at plenary, The Nation also reported.
The newspaper quoted the chairman of the committee, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano Central), as saying:
According to the committee, the nominee possessed the requisite constitutional requirements that qualify him to be appointed as a commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The committee concluded in its report that Bukar is fit to be confirmed for the position of commissioner of the FCSC.
Meanwhile, the Senate had previously confirmed the appointment of the new service chiefs, following the consideration of the report of its committee on defence.
The president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, had on Wednesday, February 24, referred the request of President Buhari for confirmation of the new service chiefs to the committee.

In another related development, President Buhari has asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Salamatu Suleiman as the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
The president also sought the red chamber’s nod for 15 others including Beatrice JD. Agba and Soni Daniel, among others, as members.
According to a letter read on the floor by the Senate resident, President Buhari said the appointments were pursuant to section 2 (3) of the NHRC Act as amended.
