A Nigerian man has taken an audacious step and thrown his hat in the ring for a Canadian legislative house role.

Shola Agboola who has lived in Canada for more than 14 years has declared his intention to represent the district of Saint Vital at the House of Commons of Canada and is seeking to be nominated by his party, Conservative Party of Canada.

Saint Vital, formerly known as Saint Boniface according to Wikipedia, is a federal electoral district in Winnipeg, Manitoba that covers the southern part of the city of Winnipeg.

Making a case for himself in a poster he shared on Facebook, Shola stated that he had worked in the Corrections Division of the Department of Justice for 14 years and has played an active role in the Conservative Party of Canada for more than 15 years.

Some of the roles he highlighted to have played in the party activities include being a riding president, policy proposal writer and campaign manager.

The public administration graduate from the University of Manitoba has already got an endorsement from Hon. Shelly Glover P.C. who was a former member of parliament under the same party, according to the poster he shared.

His declaration has sparked reactions from Nigerians as many hailed his courage and wished him success.

Olabisi Oluwasanmi commented:
