According to The Guardian, the judge consequently deferred the arraignment of Ohakim to Thursday, May 6.

The case against Ohakim has been on for a while and many say it is a stain on his political career.

Others say such a case will work against the former governor if he decides to contest for any political office in his home state.

Some Nigerians have been reacting to the case on Twitter.

“He should just defect to the APC and sing Buhari's praise on Television. Simple as ABC.”

Adeyemi Ibironke asks:

“While taking over prosecution of cases is an exclusive prerogative of attorney-general, is our AGF now so jobless that he's pursuing such a case, or is there an ulterior motive?”

Luther Ahanonu wrote:

“Very good.”

A month ago, the court ordered the Nigeria Police Force to produce Ohakim in court physically.
