Kanye West may be going through a divorce drama with his reality star wife, Kim Kardashian-West, but the rapper is being celebrated on social media for status as the richest black man in the history of the United States.

Taking to Twitter in celebration of the rapper and fashion business mogul, DJ First Class shared a video of Kanye which was recorded years ago.

In the clip, a much younger Kanye was seen ranting and making promises to himself to have an album that will become #1 in the world. Kanye noted that he may not achieve it with the first album, but he would definitely do so with his second or third.

Sharing the clip with fans, DJ First Class noted that the rapper moved from an artiste hoping to occupy the number one spot on music charts to the richest black man in US history with an estimated net worth of $6.6 billion.

However, amid reports of the rapper's wealth status, international business magazine, Forbes, disputed claims of West being the richest black person in the United States.

Forbes explained that the 43-year-old's earnings still don't make him the top earner in the US. West's earnings were reported to be at $1.8 billion, not at $6.6 billion as reported on Wednesday by various media outlets.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the rapper is still refusing to talk directly to his wife, Kim Kardashian.
