Ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash between heavyweights Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone has suggested that it could be the game for Luis Suarez.

Atletico were handed a 1-0 defeat in the first leg and now have a herculean task against the Blues if they hope to reach the quarter-final.

Thomas Tuchel has started life at Stamford Bridge on a blistering note and he is yet to lose any of his 12 matches for the club so far.

But Simeone believes Suarez could be the man to put a halt his unbeaten streak, despite that the Uruguayan is yet to grab a Champions League goal this season.

But Simeone is confident the Uruguayan will end his European drought on Wednesday, telling reporters via Mirror:

"I believe Suarez is very important for us. Probably tomorrow is the right day for Luis Suarez to end the (goalless) streak. Why not? Tomorrow could be a beautiful day.
"I believe today Chelsea don’t have a weakness. The only thing is they don’t know what can happen from a negative point of view."

On the other hand, Spanish giants Real Madrid are through to the last eight of this season's Champions League following a 3-1 second leg win over Italian side Atalanta.

Goals by striker Karim Benzema, a spot-kick by Sergio Ramos and late goal by Marco Asensio were enough to see Los Blancos complement their 1-0 first leg win it 4-1 on aggregates.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City also booked a place in this season's Champions League quarter-finals after seeing off Borussia Monchengladbach in the Round of 16.

City stunned Monchengladbach 4-0 on goal aggregates in the two-legged affair to book a place in the last eight of the European competition.
