BREAKING: Great News as Lagos State Releases Full List of COVID-19 Vaccination Centres

- Healthcare centres for the COVID-19 vaccination exercise in Lagos has been approved by the state government

- According to the Lagos commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi, the facilities are 88 in number

- Abayomi on Tuesday, March 16, revealed that the centres are in 20 local government areas of the state

Lagosians should get ready to start receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination as the state government has released a list of 88 health facilities that are expected to provide the services in 20 local government areas.

This was disclosed by the state's commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi on Tuesday, March 16.

Abayomi explained that the first phase of the exercise is for healthcare workers, COVID-19 response team, officials of ports of entry (air, land, and seaports), laboratory network, judiciary, military, police, other security agencies, petrol station, schools, press, and other frontline workers.

He noted that the second phase is for people aged 50 years and above as well as those living with co-morbidities who are between 18 to 49 years.

The commissioner said the third phase is for people in the LGAs with the highest burden of disease and those who could not take part in the first two phases while phase four is for other eligible citizens.

Moreover, Abayomi pointed out that electronic self-Registration of healthcare workers and other frontline workers using a specific URL should pre-register on https://www.nphcdaict.com.ng or https://www.vaccination.gov.ng to fill the form.

According to the Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOF), regulatory agencies will impose harsh sanctions on any health facility that conducts the vaccination outside of the designated locations in the state as it is highly prohibited.

A list of the approved centre is given below:

Meanwhile, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa were among governors that had taken the vaccine.

Others were Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara.
