Chelsea Icon Pays Touching Tribute to Late Super Eagles Legend Stephen Keshi on Live TV

Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf has paid a touching tribute to ex-Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi hailing the late Nigerian star for the goal he scored during their days at Strasbourg.

Stephen Keshi during his years in football succeeded as a player and also a coach winning the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria two times.

He died on June 7, 2016 in Benin City which is the capital of Edo state but was later taken to his hometown in Illah, Delta state for burial.

While speaking on ESPN, Frank Leboeuf explained that Stephen Keshi was so wonderful during his lifetime most especially the super goals he scored for Strasbourg.

''I want to talk about somebody who has passed away and his name is Stephen Keshi who was a Nigerian player and was absolutely fantastic.
''I was his teammate at Strasbourg and he scored a free-kick from 40 yards which helped us in League One. It was an amazing goal because nobody thought he would shoot, but he did and the whole stadium went crazy.''

Keshi played for Strasbourg between 1991-93 and the former Super Eagles gaffer got 62 appearances netting nine goals.

During his playing career, Keshi earned 60 caps for the Nigeria national team making him the nation's second-most capped player at the time of his retirement.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu on Sunday night, March 14, continued with his impressive goal-scoring form in the Belgian League as he scored for Genk in 2-1 win over Anderlecht.

His goal came days after being placed on the standby list for the coming two Super Eagles game against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Paul Onuachu has now scored 27 goals this season for Genk which is an incredible record for the Nigerian football star.

Onuachu was handed his 31st appearance across all competitions this campaign and helped his side continue in their winning ways.

He opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the encounter with a fine finish after receiving a timely assist from Daniel Munoz.
