Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has stated that having a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo is something to cherish, adding that it is a privilege.

Ronaldo shrugged-off a bad performance in the Champions League earlier in the week to score a 32-minute hat-trick in the Serie A against Cagliari as they keep their league title hopes alive.

The Portuguese striker was heavily criticised over the two legs against FC Porto with many accusing him of betraying his team-mates when it mattered most.

He neither recorded nor assisted any goal in the two-legged affair which saw the Serie A giants crash out of the championship early.

Confusion set in as regards his future as some believe he may be kicked out of the Turin club despite having one more year on his contract.

The club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has insisted that Ronaldo being on the Serie A champions' books is something to cherish. He told Sky Sport Italia via Marca.

"I grew up in a small town and this kind of talk was common in the bar and parish about (Gianni) Rivera, (Roberto) Baggio, (Michel) Platini.
"He (Ronaldo) scored 41 goals in 38 games in 2020. He's the top scorer in Serie A and has won five Ballons d'Or.
"It's a privilege for us to have Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus. We enjoy having him. Is he part of our future? He certainly represents it."
