Nigerian lady celebrates being first corps member in her family as last born, stirs mixed reactions

A Nigerian lady has got people talking on Twiter after she celebrated getting into the one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps programme.

In a tweet on Monday, March 15, the lady took to Twitter and said that she had an unusual grace as the last born in her family to become the first to serve.

@OluwaO said it could only have been God's grace. She added that the God who did hers would also do others who want the same thing.

She told Legit.ng that she lost her dad when she was a 7 months old baby and it was the support of his mum that saw her through her academic journey.

"I am extremely happy. Imagine being the last born growing up with just the support of your mum and God.

"I lost my dad when I was a 7month old baby. While growing up, my brothers and sister weren’t really around so it was just mum and me most of the time
Mum, being a teacher raised me to the best of her ability. I went to the best private schools in Ikare Akoko with a teacher's salary. It was tough for her but she would always tell me “she believes I’ll become great”

"After secondary, I moved to Warri far away from my mum. It was really hard but I survived."

Many people have, however, come under her tweet to say that she blew her trumpet too early and could be setting herself up for sibling rivalry.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a young Nigerian lady and ex-corps member, Esther Amarachi Igbo, celebrated her passing out parade with her mother in Anambra state who used food (abacha) selling business to send her to school.

Esther who bagged a degree in economics at the Abia State University served in St John of God Secondary School in Awka.
