There is no way the federal government can secure all schools in the country according to the minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

As a result of this, parents and Nigerians have been urged to maintain a high level of vigilance to end attacks on schools and abduction of students.

Punch reports that the government consequently directed schools to report any security threat to the nearest security agency.

He said:

“Eternal vigilance is the price for security. Every nation is always concerned about the consciousness of its people. The Federal Government cannot secure every house. Everybody needs to be vigilant. We have passed this message to all our schools so that anywhere they are, if there is any threat, they know the nearest security agency to contact.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that a lawmaker representing Kaduna Central at the Senate, Uba Sani has urged the people of the state to lend their full weight behind Governor Nasir El-Rufai's war against banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, and allied crimes.

Legit.ng's regional reporter in Kaduna, Nasir Dambatta, reports that the lawmaker explained that the El-Rufai administration has since moved from agonizing over the incessant attacks on communities to an 'all-out assault on criminal elements' with a determination to win the war.

Senator Uba Sani further stated that El-Rufai was leading from the front, adding that the governor, therefore, means business in the fight against all forms of criminality.
