Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru came off the bench to grab two goals helping Galatasaray to a 3-0 win over Kayserispor and stay in the hunt for the Turkish championship.

The on-loan AS Monaco star scored his side’s second goal of the encounter in the 81st minute before sealing the victory with another strike right on stoppage-time.

The away win means Galatasaray keep their title hopes alive as they inch closer to league leaders Besiktas reducing their lead to just two points.

He has been named on Gernot Rohr’s stand-by list ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic later this month.

Oghenekaro Etebo who was included in Nigeria's 24-man squad, came on as an 82nd-minute substitute while former Enyimba centre-back Valentine Ozornwafor was an unused substitute.

And Etebo's son recently sent social media into a frenzy after reproducing Henry Onyekuru's goal celebration in his father's bedroom.

Fully kitted in Galatasaray's replica with his father's name and jersey number boldly written on the back of the top, the youngster slid across the room before showing his fingers while on the floor.

The midfielder burst into laughter after seeing the creativity of his son and decided to share the short clip on his Instagram story while tagging his international teammate in the process.

Meanwhile, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has responded to Alex Iwobi's claims about being played out of position under his tutelage.

The Nigerian international was called up into the national team by Gernot Rohr and he took to Instagram and said: "Always an honour to get called up for my national team, hopefully I get to play in my preferred position."

That message did not go down well with the Italian manager as he claimed that the 24-year-old never approached him about being uncomfortable with his role with the Toffees.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Genk striker Paul Onuachu seems undisturbed with coach Gernot Rohr's decision to put him on the standby list for this month's AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

Despite scoring 26 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for his Belgian side, the German-born handler decided to overlook him in his 24-man squad for the doubleheader later in March.

The likes of Ahmed Musa who has been without a club since last October is being considered ahead of the attacker who also has three assists credited to his name at his club side.
