Okorocha blows hot, demands apology from Imo state govt over sealed hotel

Senator Rochas Okorocha, a former southeast governor has asked the Imo state government led by Governor Hope Uzodimma to apologise to the general public for all kinds of lies following a valid court judgment on an estate.

The Punch reports that this was contained in a statement by the Imo west senator issued by his spokesman, Sam Onwuemeodo.

According to Okorocha, the state government appealed a judgment barring it from sealing properties owned by the former governor and members of his family.

The federal lawmaker on Thursday, March 11, said that no fewer than 200 persons lost their jobs at the Royal Spring Palm Estate, Owerri, after the state government shut down the establishment, owned by his wife, Nkechi.

The property which the government alleged was built on a green verge against the master plan of Owerri.

Former governor arrested for unsealing property seized by his successor

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the former governor of Imo state was arrested for daring Governor Uzodimma, his successor, to reopen the Royal Palm Estate which was sealed by the state government.

Okorocha, accompanied by his son-in-law and political protege, Uche Nwosu, broke the keys to recovering the estate which allegedly belongs to his wife, Nkechi.

The Imo west senator's daring action infuriated the loyalists of the Uzodimma-led Imo state government who confronted him in a clash that reportedly left one person injured.

In a related development, the state's police command has arraigned 14 persons including a senior legislative aide to Okorocha, Steve Asimobi.

The government accused them of invading a building after the government had sealed it. Specifically, the government said Royal Spring Palm Hotel which was sealed was forcefully invaded by those arraigned.
