Former Barcelona winger Emmanuel Amuneke has faulted Ahmed Musa's invitation to the Super Eagles' camp for this month's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

The former Premier League star made coach Gernot Rohr's 24-man list despite being clubless since last October after parting ways with Saudi Arabia outfit Al Nassr.

He almost got signed up by West Bromwich Albion during the January transfer window but the deal collapsed in the end.

His selection has also divided the fans and ex-internationals with varying opinions trailing Musa's invite to camp.

Amuneke who led Tanzania to their first Nations Cup finals in years insisted that Rohr is wrong on all sides to have included the winger in the team. He was quoted by Complete Sport saying:

“Professionally and morally, Ahmed Musa should not be on the list because he is not engaged in a competitive league.
“He should not have been invited. He has given so much to the country and was probably brought in to motivate the younger players in the team. It’s for the coach to give reasons why he invited this player.”

The Super Eagles will face Benin at the Stade Charles de Gaulle, Porto Novo on Saturday, March 27, and later host Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday, March 30 in their final two games in the qualifiers.
