Andrea Pirlo who is the handler of reigning Italian champions Juventus has explained that he is not unperturbed about the possibility of him losing his job after Champions League exit.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates on Tuesday night, March 9, failed to progress to the next round of the Champions League as they were sent out by Porto who qualified on aggregate.

This is now the second season that Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to go far in the Champions League with Juventus since joining them from Real Madrid.

Last season when the Old Lady failed to win the Champions League title, Maurizio Sarri was axed by the club's chiefs and they appointed their legend Pirlo.

According to the report on GOAL, Andrea Pirlo explained that he was hired as the manager of the Old Lady so as to bring more changes to the team.

"I am the coach of Juventus, I was brought in for a more ample approach, a project that was always meant to develop over several years, so I am not concerned about being sacked.
"Now that we’re in this situation, we can work on various aspects in training, which we haven’t had time to do so far this season, and try to improve on those.”

Juventus will now concentrate on their campaign in Serie A where they are currently occupying third position with 52 points and they are 10 points behind leaders Inter.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo was criticised for being responsible for Porto’s second goal as the Portuguese club sent the Old Lady out of the Champions League.

Manager Andrea Pirlo will be upset according to former English footballer Jamie O’Hara who blamed 36-year-old Ronaldo for jumping away, letting a 30-yard-freekick go into the net leaving goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny scrambling down to his right to no avail.

The reverse fixture had ended 2-1 in favour of the Portuguese club, which means Porto go through to the next stage courtesy of the away goals' rule after it ended 4-4 on aggregates.

Ronaldo and his Juve teammates failed to find a way past 38-year-old Pepe and his dogged defensive colleagues, who held on to claim a famous victory in Turin.
