APGA chieftain drops bombshell, reveals who offered bandits N57m not to release Jangebe schoolgirls

Following the release of the abducted Jangebe schoolgirls, Abdullah Shinkafi, a chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), said that bandits were offered N57 million not to release the students.

According to Channels TV, Shinkafi who made the allegation during a press briefing on Monday, March 8, claims that the offer was made by some politicians in Zamfara state.

He explained that the offer was a tactic to wreck Governor Bello Matawalle's peace accord, rubbish his efforts, and take-over power in 2023.

While stressing that some politicians from the opposition parties had been making moves to frustrate the rescue operation, Shinkafi expressed confidence that many will be implicated in the incident.

Speaking further the APGA chieftain challenged politicians from both the ruling and opposition parties in the country to subject their telephones to security checks.

Governor Matawalle reveals how he secured Jangebe students' release

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the governor of Zamfara state revealed how the hundreds of students kidnapped from the Government Secondary School, Jangebe, were released.

Contrary to the insinuations in some quarters, Governor Matawalle said no ransom was paid to secure the release of the students.

He stated this on Wednesday evening, March 3, during an interview. Governor Matawalle said he secured the release of the students through the repentant bandits in the state.
