IWD2021: List of 50 women appointed by President Buhari

On March 8 every year, the achievements of women across the world are celebrated while awareness is also created about gender equality.

The theme for the 2021 celebration which falls on Monday, March 8, is Choose to Challenge.

To mark the important day and show that his administration recognises the important roles played by women, the presidency has released a list of 50 women appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the 50 women listed, tagged "The Buhari Women" are just a few of the women working with the Nigerian president.

Below is the list:

Meanwhile, the presidency has repeatedly dismissed the insinuations that President Buhari's appointments are skewed in favour of the north.

Presidential spokesman, Adesina, on Monday, February 1, said many Nigerians have a wrong perception about the appointments made by the Buhari-led administration.

According to Adesina, Ogun state, a southwestern state, had the highest number of appointments made by the Buhari administration in 2015.
