Mario Lemina's superb strike moments before the break was all relegation-threatened Fulham needed to outshine Liverpool at Anfield.

The 27-year-old dispossessed Mohamed Salah of the ball at the edge of the 18-yard box before unleashing the thunder that went past Alisson Becker straight into the left-bottom corner of the post.

And the hosts could not respond to the goal for the remainder of the game as the Cottagers ran off with maximum points at a place where Liverpool used to call a fortress.

This now means that the defending champions are winless in their last eight Premier League games at Anfield - losing six and drawing the remaining two.

Stats also revealed that the Merseyside outfit has failed to score with each of their last 115 shots at Anfield in the EPL aside from penalties.

The Reds however remain on 43 points after 28 English topflight games and if this continues, they might fail to play in the Champions League next campaign.

Jurgen Klopp's men have now lost a total of nine league games the following year after winning their first title in 30 years.

Following their 16 attempts this afternoon, Liverpool have now failed to score with each of their last 115 shots at Anfield in the Premier League (excluding penalties), the longest ever run by a side at home.

Klopp's men will now shift their focus to their Champions League midweek encounter against RB Leipzig and hope they can secure their spot in the quarterfinal stage.

They head into the fixture with a 2-0 advantage having won the first leg of their round of 16 encounter by that margin away from home.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Kelechi Iheanacho was on target for Leicester City as they moved to second on the Premier League table following a 2-1 win at Brighton.

The Nigerian international scored his second goal within the space of four days after helping the Foxes get back into the game while trailing in the first half.

The Seagulls took the lead in the tenth minute through former Liverpool striker Adam Lallana courtesy of an assisted pass from Neal Maupay.
