Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stated that the loss to Premier League rivals Chelsea is a massive blow to his side's hopes of finishing in the Premier League's top four.

Chelsea played their best game under new manager Thomas Tuchel following a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night, February 4.

The only goal of the match was scored by Mason Mount who got his sixth of the season which proved to be the match-winner.

The reigning Premier League kings, Liverpool, failed to register a shot on target as they lacked quality in the final third despite building their attack from the midfield.

"We have to win football games and we know that and we will work on it, but for tonight, it was not enough."

Liverpool have now gone more than 10 hours without a goal at Anfield and they have taken just one point from the last 21 on offer at home since Christmas, scoring just two goals, one of which was a penalty.
