Nigerian winger Moses Simon sends an important message to Benin Lesotho after scoring in FC Nantes 2-1 defeat to Reims.

The 25-year-old attacker opened the scoring for The Canaries in the 14th minute through a superb header from a Pedro Chirivella's cross after the Spaniard intercepted the ball from the visitors.

He then advanced down the flanks before making his delivery which found the Super Eagles running towards the post and headed the ball into an almost empty net.

They were however unable to hold on to their lead beyond the 39th minute when Konan restored parity for the away team and Yunis Abdelhamid sealing the victory for the guests with his 89th-minute effort.

Coach Raymond Domenech and his men are now sitting just one spot above the base of the log with just 24 points from 28 games.

Simon has now scored four goals in 23 league appearances so far this campaign - a figure he will hope to improve on before the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the goal will be a morale booster for the attacker as Nigeria prepare to play their remaining Afric Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.

Just like Simon, Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho was on target after powering home a stunner against Burnley while they settled for a draw at the end of the encounter at Turf Moor.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero for Leicester City after scoring to help them stalemate Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday, March 3.

The 24-year-old forward fired home an unstoppable volley into Nick Pope's net in the 34th minute to seal as the two sides played a 1-1 draw at the end of the encounter.

Iheanacho made a run towards The Clarets' 18-yeard box after spotting his countryman Wilfred Ndidi looking to send in a long ball from his half.
