Ahead of their Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona, Sevilla star Papu Gomez has warned his teammates about Lionel Messi, saying the legend is capable of anything.

The Argentine star knows a lot about his countryman and is already warning his teammates as they prepare for Wednesday’s second leg Copa del Rey semi-final clash.

Messi found the back of the net against the same team in the La Liga over the weekend and according to Gomez, Sevilla have to be careful of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

He said via Barcablaugranes:

“When he turns it on, he is capable of anything. We are going to have to be very attentive to him and the other players, hopefully it’s not Leo’s day.
“Being one step away from a final is to the credit of the boys, who reached the quarter-finals. I participated in the quarter-finals and now in the semifinal.
“We have one more step left, we know the difficulties we have because it is not easy to get a good result from the Camp Nou."

Sevilla’s 2-0 first-leg lead gives them a big advantage, but Barca will be full of belief after their weekend win.

In the same vein, Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nelson Semedo practically has no words to describe Lionel Messi's ingenuity on the pitch.

The Portuguese spent three seasons playing along with the six-time Ballon d'Or winner at Camp Nou before exiting for Wolves in 2020.

Nelson Semedo claims he never caught the Argentine superstar practicing free-kicks, saying it comes to him naturally.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Argentine star Franco Jara who currently plays for FC Dallas in the United States has stated that he will kiss Lionel Messi’s feet if the legend arrives in the US and play in Major League Soccer.

There are speculations over the future of the Barcelona captain as he enters into the final months of his existing contract with the Catalan giants.

With Premier League club Manchester City as well as French Ligue 1 outfit PSG trailing the six-time Ballon d’Or superstar, Messi admitted that he would love to play in the US in future.
