COVID-19: Again, southwest state extends work from home order for civil servants

- The Lagos state government continues to intensify precautionary measures to ensure COVID-19 spread is reduced drastically

- A recent announcement by the government indicates civil servants in the state will continue to stay at home for the time being

- The new directive issued to workers from level 12 and below takes effect from Monday, March 1

The Lagos state government has further extended its work from home order for civil servants on Grade Level 12 and below from Monday, March 1.

The information was announced via a statement issued by the head of service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and published on the government's website on Sunday, February 28.

Legit.ng gathered that the directive which is for another four weeks, was issued in a bid to further curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

While expressing delight in the measures put in place by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19, Muri-Okunola noted that the measures resulted in a steady decline in the number of recorded cases.

He added that the work from home order does not preclude any of the exempted Grade Levels from reporting for duty whenever the accounting officer deems it necessary.

FG shares update on COVID-19 vaccine

Meanwhile, as Nigerians eagerly await the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, the federal government has released an update on the serum.

The government revealed that about four million doses of vaccines from the COVAX facility for COVID-19 treatment will be delivered in Nigeria.

This was revealed by the chairman of Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, on Saturday night, February 27.
