In what will surprise many Nigerians, a notable politician in Ogun state has been arrested by men of the state police command,.

Oludare Kadiri, deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly was arrested and detained for alleged assault during the revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The Ijebu-North representative at the state assembly was alleged to have invaded the residence of the secretary to the state government, Tokunbo Talabi, with hoodlums.

Punch Newspaper reports that Kadiri was being held at the Criminal Investigation Department at the Police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta for the offence.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that amid ethnic tension in Ogun over the farmer-herder crisis, Fulani herdsmen under the aegis of Miyetti Allah have written to some communities in the state, telling them to expect fresh attacks.

The paramount ruler of Yewaland and the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, made this fear-instilling disclosure when some governors from the north paid a visit to his palace.

It would be recalled that Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Sani Bello of Niger, Muhammed Matawalle of Zamfara, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state paid a visit to Ogun over the ensuing violence taking ethnic colouration in the state.

Also, Governor Abiodun on Friday, February 19, met with President Buhari at the presidential Aso Rock villa over the farmer-herder crisis in Ogun state.

The governor brought the report of violence that ensued over the weekend between host communities in Yewaland and the herders, and measures put in place by the government to put an end to the ensuing bedlam in the state.
