In what will impress Nigerians, the police have commenced a coordinated search and rescue operation for students of government girls secondary school, Jangebe, Zamfara state.

To ensure that the mission is successful, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu ordered the immediate deployment of two (2) operational surveillance helicopters to the state.

The government send this in addition to the personnel of Operation Puff Adder II earlier deployed to the state.

Also, the police boss in a statement to Legit.ng condemned the barbaric and callous abduction of the innocent female students.

Meanwhile, he has assured that the Police and other security forces will not relent until the abducted students are successfully rescued and reunited with their families.

He also called for calm and enjoins members of the public, particularly the people of Zamfara state, not to hesitate in availing the police and the law enforcement community with useful information that can assist in the rescue of the abducted school girls.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that reactions have been trailing the attempted and foiled arrest of a popular Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho on social media.

The vehicles of the self-styled Yoruba youth leader on Friday, February 26, were reportedly stopped by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Department of State Security (DSS) along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

According to former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, the self-styled activist was said to be on "his way to see Baba Ayo Adebanjo", a Yoruba elder and one of the Afenifere leaders in Lagos.
