Legendary Samuel Eto'o must be feeling very proud after watching his son Etienne strike an impeccable free-kick from about 25 yards for the Cameroon U20 team against Mozambique in their AFCON U20 competition.

The 18-year-old centre-forward ended up scoring two goals and assisting another one in the game that ended 4-1 in favour of his country.

Etienne needed just seven minutes to score on his debut and before the end of the opening half, he powered home another goal from the spot.

But he became very emotional after his stunning first goal as he broke down in tears while being mobbed by team-mates.

After missing the first two group games, young Eto'o was handed an opportunity in the final group game of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations and he delivered victory as they claimed all nine points.

The Real Oviedo attacker was born in 2002 when his father was signed to Spanish club Mallorca before joining Barcelona in 2004 where he won three La Liga titles and a pair of Champions Leagues.

Samuel also claimed another Champions League during his reign at Inter Milan while he racked up 118 Cameroon caps.

Meanwhile, the youngster's free-kick has been likened to a similarly fantastic set-piece goal from his dad for the Lions back in 2006 as reported by SunSport.

Etienne, after his stunner, told the Caf website:

"My dad has played a huge influence in my life because I have always admired him and want to learn from him and continue in his steps. Always I want to be someone like him.
"I want to try and be better than him and I am always looking forward to stepping on the pitch and giving my best.
"Even though I know it is difficult to be better than my father, I want to work hard to achieve like him. He is always there to support me and give me advice."

Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-Barcelona and Inter Milan star Samuel Eto'o has cheated death after he was involved in a tragic road accident.

It is understood that the accident occurred on Sunday, November 8, 2020, in Douala, Cameroon.

Multiple reports claimed that the ex-footie star is in a stable condition even as he continues to receive treatment at a yet-to-be-identified hospital.
