Former Liverpool star Dejan Lovren has stated that the reigning Premier League champions would have been languishing in 15th position if they were without Mohamed Salah.

He further disclosed that the Egyptian who has so far scored 17 league goals this season has nothing else to prove again as he is the best.

Despite Liverpool’s poor form in the English top-flight this season, Salah has continued to perform at the highest level with incredible statistics.

He scored in their Champions League win over RB Leipzig ahead of the clash against Everton on Saturday, February 20.

Friend and former teammate Dejan Lovren believes we are seeing the very best of Salah right now.

Lovren told talkSPORT:

“Individually, when you look at the amount of goals he’s scored, he’s doing amazingly at the moment.
“Mo is in the best age of his football career at 28. Maybe he looks a bit older but he’s in the peak of his form so why not stay another four, five, six years?”

Meanwhile, Salah has stated that the reigning Premier League kings will fight like champions until the end of the season.
