French forward Antoine Griezmann made a trip to Lyon immediately after his side Barcelona were handed a 4-1 humiliating defeat in the first leg round of 16 Champions League tie by PSG, Mirror reports.

Reports have it that some Barcelona fans are upset with the player by his decision to make the trip to France after they were beaten.

Impressive Paris Saint-Germain handed Barcelona a stunning defeat right at the Camp Nou as the UEFA Champions League action returned on Tuesday night, February 16.

Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick in the encounter as well as a Moise Kean goal for the visitors, despite captain Lionel Messi had put Barcelona ahead early in the game.

Their manager Ronald Koeman has granted the team two days off until they resume training again on Friday.

And considering his largely ineffective performance, Griezmann was the target of fury from some on social media.

One fan tweeted: "We lose 4-1 to PSG and Griezmann gets a private plane to go on holiday for a couple of days?"

Also, an on-field incident occurred when it was 1-1 as former Manchester United defender Pique was visibly upset with the team and then had a heated argument with Griezmann.

It happened at a time Barcelona were defending a corner as the full heated-argument was caught by pitch-side microphones.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is proud of his Manchester City squad for their impressive performances despite not having anyone like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or even Neymar in his team.

The Citizens are edging closer to winning their third Premier League title in the last four seasons as they sit at the summit of the table with 53 points.

Manchester United are the closest to them and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are seven points behind their rivals while defending champions are fourth on the table with 40 points.

However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League table-toppers Manchester City have recorded the most negative net transfer spending among the top five European Leagues in the last 10 years.

The six-time English league champions are said to have spent a staggering €1 billion on signings but could only recoup €375m - meaning they lost a sum of €631m in the period under review.

Manchester United are behind their City rivals both on the EPL table and the list of teams who have lost more money on the continent.
