Ahmed Musa who is the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been named as the best Nigerian Muslim celebrity for the year 2020 because of his massive contributions.

The former Leicester City forward was honoured with the prestigious award by Muslim News, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Rasheed Abubakar who is the publisher of the newspaper explained that Ahmed Musa is the one chosen by the award committee.

''He is among the few Muslim footballers in the world who celebrate their goals by performing sujood al-shukr, the Islamic act of prostration of gratitude.''

Rasheed Abubakar also explained that they are aware of the fact that they are also aware that Ahmed Musa has built a multi-million naira fitness centers in Kano and Kaduna which is awesome.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa is yet to team up with any club and Nigerians are waiting for the Super Eagles captain to secure to move to a big side.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Ahmed Musa's proposed transfer to Premier League giants West Brom was cancelled by the club's chiefs after training with them for almost one week.

The Super Eagles captain was said to have travelled to the United Kingdom last week where he was accessed by West Brom's coaching crew who are looking for an agile striker.

Since leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr last year October, Ahmed Musa has been looking for ways to return to the Premier League after his unsuccessful stint at Leicester City.

At Leicester City, Ahmed Musa managed to play 33 games for the Foxes which included six Champions League appearances before he left the side scoring five goals.

Being the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa needs active playing time for him to maintain his position at the Nigerian national team.
