Kylian Mbappe has been saluted by Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann following his brilliant performance against the Catalans in the Champions League on Tuesday night, February 16.

Barcelona hosted the French champions in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie with the hope of winning the tie, but Kylian Mbappe broke their hearts scoring three goals at Camp Nou.

The France international was in the best form of his life against Barcelona scoring his first goal in the first half before netting brace in the second 45 minutes.

With his three goals against Barcelona, Kylian Mbappe is now the third player on earth to fire thrice against the Spanish giants in the Champions League.

The two other footballers who netted hat-tricks against Barcelona are Faustino Asprilla for Newcastle and Andriy Shevchenko for Dynamo Kyiv.

According to the report on GOAL, Antoine Griezmann stated clearly that he was impressed with what his fellow countryman did against his club Barcelona.

"I am happy for him. He has been criticised a lot, but that is what happens when you are someone for a little while.
"As soon as he plays less well, we criticise him. It is quite easy. But I believe that PSG have a future star, one who will be on the level of Leo and Cristiano. He had a truly great match.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how high flying Paris Saint-Germain handed Barcelona a 4-1 defeat right at the Camp Nou as the UEFA Champions League action returns on Tuesday night, February 16.

The French side took a giant lead as the prestigious competition returns, ahead of the reverse fixture scheduled for a fortnight.

It was Barcelona who took the lead in the 25th minute of the encounter following a well-taken penalty kick by captain Lionel Messi.

De Jong had chased a long ball into the area and had his heels clipped before the centre referee pointed the spot.

Messi slotted home cooly when he rifled into the top-right corner to give his side a well-deserved lead.

But it didn't take long before PSG drew level courtesy of a Kylian Mbappe strike from close range.
