Theophilus Afelokhai who is the goalkeeper of Rivers United has explained that he was the one who helped Super Eagle captain Ahmed Musa to be signed at NPFL giants Kano Pillars.

Ahmed Musa is no doubt one of the best forwards in the world considering what he has achieved in the game of soccer and the clubs he has played for.

The former Leicester City striker actually started his football career in Jos before moving to Kano Pillars in the year 2009 and left the former Nigerian champions in 2012 for Europe.

According to the report on Brila, Afelokhai explained that Ahmed Musa would not have been accepted at Kano Pillars if not for him who made it possible.

“He was with me in Pillars, they brought him as a nobody, I was the captain then, the club refused to sign him but I was able to convince the management to sign him because of the slots given to me to sign four players every season.
''The coach had opined that Musa’s small stature will not fit into his football philosophy, but I insisted that I will leave the club if Musa does not sign for Pillars that year.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Ahmed Musa who is the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria took to social media to pen an emotional note to his later mother two years after her death.

The former Leicester City star explained that even though his mother is no more, but added that he thinks about her every day considering how close they were.

Truly, the death of Ahmed Musa's mother came as a huge shock to the football fraternities in Nigeria as there was no news of any sickness before her demise.

Ahmed Musa is currently without a club after leaving Saudi Arabian League and there have been reports of him being linked with return to England.
