Current Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is under heavy criticism at the Premier League club and should he get fired, Spurs will have to pay him as much as £35million as severance package.

UK outlet The Athletic via SunSport are stating that Mourinho’s contract has no exit option for either side and there are still well over two years on it.

Consequently, Tottenham chairman Daniel levy will be left with no choice than to pay the manager the remainder of his contract if they want him to leave, but there are no plans for that now.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea tactician joined Spurs on a three-and-a-half-year deal to replace Mauricio Pochettino that is worth the same as his contract at Manchester United.

Mourinho has also been heavily backed in the transfer market and IS set to be trusted to turn Tottenham's recent fortunes around.

But a ninth-place position in the Premier League amid a shocking run of form is raising questions over his tenure at the club.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has hinted Jose Mourinho on how to get the very best from superstar Gareth Bale, saying the player is not the confident type.

The manager added that he personally does not believe Mourinho actually wanted Bale back at Tottenham as he further stated that the ex-Real Madrid sensation must be treated with care.

Bale has visibly flopped since he returned to the White Hart Lane as he was not included in the team that failed to beat Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final.

However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Pep Guardiola is proud of his Manchester City squad for their impressive performances despite not having anyone like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or even Neymar in his team.

The Citizens are edging closer to winning their third Premier League title in the last four seasons as they sit at the summit of the table with 53 points.

Manchester United are the closest to them and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are seven points behind their rivals while defending champions are fourth on the table with 40 points.
