Latest reports have it that £5million (about N2.5billion) was found in the bank accounts of late Diego Maradona which he left for his children, SunSport reports.

It was gathered that Maradona had told his close friends before he died that he had around £75m (about N37.5billion).

Varying figures of what he left behind has emerged on several occasions, but acing lawyer to his youngest son Diego Fernando admitted the former footballer’s fortune as he laid bare the former footballer’s problem financial situation.

Mario Baudry, said:

“There’s been talk of £75m but only just over £4m has appeared in bank accounts along with a small apartment, an old house Diego owned and two cars.
“Diego earned a lot of money but the problem is he didn’t have it.
“The expense reports haven’t appeared so we don’t know if he spent it or if others spent it or whether it’s somewhere we don’t know yet."

Diego Maradona passed away on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60 in his country home in Buenos Aires.

Investigations into the unfortunate death of the legend is beginning to take shape as two nurses and a psychologist were allegedly part of the plot.

With reports that Diego was already recovering, the news of his death was surprising to many, hence, the authorities in Argentina decided to look into the real cause.

The government wants to know if there was a case of negligence during the late footballer's treatment after the operation.

Leopoldo Luque, the neurosurgeon who performed Maradona's brain surgery, and psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, who treated him, are being investigated as their homes and offices were searched shortly after his death.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that less than two months after Diego Maradona’s death, his personal doctor Leopoldo Luque has been accused of deliberately forging his signature in a bid to access his personal records.

Documents showing someone is already practicing the late legend’s signature were seen in several Argentinian news media.

It was alleged that the exhibits were found in the home of the doctor in Buenos Aires as the Luque was personally in-charge when the brain operation was carried out on the superstar weeks before he died.
