According to the report, some governors who are expected to be part of the meeting included governors Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state and Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that a former deputy governor of Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, finally defected to the ruling APC.

It was reported that Omisore on Monday, February 15, visited his polling unit in Ward 6, Moore, Ile-Ife, in a convoy of Osun state deputy governor, Benedict Alabi, to pick the APC membership card.

Omisore contested the 2018 governorship poll on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

He, however, subsequently aligned with the APC before the September 28 rerun after snubbing the PDP. The election was eventually won by the APC, a development that reignited Omisore's political influence in the southwest state.
