Police arrest 4 OPC members for allegedly beating man to death
- Some members of the OPC are currently under police investigation over alleged murder
- The Lagos police command accused the suspects of violently attacking a man
- The arrested OPC members have not yet been charged to court for the said crime

Four members of the O’odua People’s Congress (OPC) have been arrested by the Lagos police command for reportedly beating a man to death.
According to Premium Times, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson for the command made the disclosure in a statement.

He explained that the killing occurred on Saturday, February 13 at Bariga, Lagos.
He identified the victim who was killed as Tochukwu Chidi, a 35-year-old man of Arobadede Street, Bariga.
Adejobi said the victim was attacked by the OPC members after an argument occurred.
The spokesperson said:
“The Police operatives attached to Bariga Division of the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, 13th February, 2021, arrested four (4) members of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) for beating and stabbing one Tochukwu Chidi, m, 35, of No 76 Arobadede Street, Bariga, to death after an argument with them at Temple Street, Bariga, Lagos.
“The suspects attacked the deceased and inflicted injuries on him. He was rushed to the General Hospital, Bariga, for treatment before he was confirmed dead."
Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has written a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu over allegations of hate speech.
According to Daily Trust, the PDP alleged that the chairman of the APC in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas ordered party members to attack and punish anybody caught trying to steal votes during the 2023 election.
In another news, a dismissed constable, Joseph Omotosho, who was attached to the defunct Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) of the Edo police command, has been sentenced to death by a state high court in Benin City.
Premium Times reported that the court on Friday, February 12, found the accused guilty of conspiring with four other police constables to kill a car dealer in 2015.
The four other co-accused officers were reported to have escaped in the twin jailbreak during the EndSars protest last in October 2020.
