Frank Lampard still earns roughly N40m (£75k) weekly wages from Chelsea days after losing his job at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues confirmed the sack of a 42-year-old in January and immediately replaced him with former Paris Saint Germain handler Thomas Tuchel.

Lampard had an active deal with the club, with SunSport reporting he was not paid the remainder of his contract following a change of policy at the club.

Chelsea offer Jorginho for former Tottenham star in huge summer deal

It is understood Chelsea now owe the tactician to the tune of £1.8million after his unceremonious axing and would need to be offered a job too good to reject to give up the massive payout.

Until then, the west London club have an obligation to keep paying him the £75k per week salary as they still have him on the wage bill.

It is believed the agreement will see the side continue the payment up until July - unless the legendary midfielder takes up a job elsewhere.

However, the 42-year-old is believed to be keen to take a break from football management for sometime after having three highly demanding seasons at both Chelsea and Derby County.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently enjoying a somewhat mini-revival since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, with the German leading the club to three league wins on the bounce.

Tuchel has subsequently picked 10 points from the available 12 to climb to fifth on the standings with 39 points.
