Liverpool were condemned to their third straight Premier League defeat during their visit to the King Power Stadium by Leicester City earlier this weekend.

Having already lost to Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City, the Reds suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Foxes in a manner that questions their title ambition.

Despite Mohamed Salah breaking the deadlock in the fixture after finding the back of the net in the 67th-minute schoolboy errors from Alisson Becker cost the Merseyside outfit the game.

With James Maddison, Jamie Vardy, and Harvey Barnes all grabbing a goal each in the 78th, 81st, and 85th minutes respectively.

And this means that Jurgen Klopp's men have won just two of their last 10 games leaving their title chances uncertain. Asked if he is conceding the title this season, Klopp said and ESPN reported that:

"Yes. I can't believe, but yes. I don't think we can close that gap this year. We have to win football games. Today was really good in parts. We have to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings.
"We have to take steps, to perform again and results are related to that. We are good enough to win it [the title], for long periods, but not until the end."

The German boss who led the club to Champions League and Premier League triumphs in the last three years commented on his goalkeeper's late displays, saying:

"Alisson had a super game and then at that moment he came out. I didn't hear him shouting.
"We are not looking for excuses. A lot of things happen. We should have done better. We spoke about that, in the moment, it's tough. The only way out is to play good football, fight and work hard."

Liverpool have now conceded 32 goals in 24 league games this season, just one fewer than they did in the whole of 2019-20 as they sit fourth on the log with 40 points - 13 behind Man City.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was voted Man of the Match in the Foxes comeback win against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

The Reds produced a dominant display and went ahead in the 67th minute but Brendan Rodgers' men got their bearing and turned the game on its head.

Ndidi then balanced the game in the midfield as his side began to create chances that led to their stunning recovery.
