Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was on Wednesday night, February 10, named the man of the match as he scored the golden goal that sent Leicester City to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup beating Brighton 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.
As expected in this encounter, England international Jamie Vardy started up front for Leicester City and had the chance to even score the opener in the fifth minute, but he missed.
Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward produced an incredible save in the 10th minute as Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross fired a brilliant shot.
Before the half time break, Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi also had a chance inside Brighton's 18-yard box, but the Nigerian star was unable to hit the target.
City gaffer Brendan Rodgers decided to bring Kelechi Iheanacho in as a replacement for Jamie Vardy in the 63rd minute, but the Foxes had to wait until the 94th minute before the Nigerian scored the winning goal.
The former Manchester City star was superb, turning Youri Tielemans' cross to the back of the net with his header.
Iheanacho will now be turning his attention to Saturday's Premier League outing as the Foxes host Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
The 24-year-old has played 19 matches across all competitions this season with five goals to his name, of which three came in the Uefa Europa League.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigeria international John Ogu stated clearly that Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is the funniest player in the Super Eagles stressing that all players always want to be with him.
Ogu who is currently working on getting a new club made this known while speaking with Legit.ng in an exclusive video interview.
The 32-year-old explained that he is a hungry player who is always fighting for success as he also stated that the mood in the Super Eagles camp was bad after losing against Argentina at the 2018 World Cup and also against Algeria at the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
He explained that the friendly game against Argentina in which the Super Eagles won 4-2 was his toughest game in the national team.
