Everybody in the southeast wants to belong to the APC, says Gov Umahi

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has declared that everyone in the southeast wants to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the comment on Wednesday, February 10 when he visited the APC secretariat in Abuja to meet with the caretaker committee chairman of the party and Yobe state governor, Mai Bala Buni.

Governor Umahi who was speaking to journalists including a Legit.ng reporter, described the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise of the party as 'world-class.'

His words:

“The ongoing registration, arrangements and logistics and the intentions are very wonderful. It is first class because I have never seen it in any party administration.
“So it is important I come to commend him and to also commend the staff who are working with him. This is essentially the reason why I have come.
“I complained to him that the hundreds of forms at the polling units is a far cry from what we expected. Everybody in the southeast wants to belong to the APC.”

Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has declared that Nigerians will vote for the APC again in the 2023 general elections.

Governor Uzodinma made the comment during an interview with a television station on Wednesday, February 3.

In a related development, the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared that access should be given to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), willing to join the APC in the ongoing membership registration exercise of the ruling party.

Omo-Agege made the comment on Tuesday, February 2 in his country home in Orogun, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.

According to him, the essence of the exercise is to rejuvenate the party in preparation for future elections hence the need to get more members into the APC fold.
